I'm Back...Kinda and Two Freebies

Hi Everyone!  It has been awhile.  I'm so sorry I haven't been posting, but my injuries from the accident are still painful.  For those who do not know I was a pedestrian and was hit by an SUV almost 3 weeks ago.  I have a broken wrist, soft tissue damage/swelling, and the new one...herniated disc in my back.  I start physical therapy on Monday (keep your fingers crossed).

To thank everyone for their kind words and warm wishes, I am posting two holiday freebies.  I hope you can use them.  And thanks again for thinking of me during this "interesting time" in my life!

Until next time...

Thankful and a Sale

First, I have to say thank you to all the bloggy friends who wished me well during my accident.  As an update, I'm still in a cast for my broken wrist and still walking bad from my knees, hip, and back.  But I will be back to work on Monday (if all goes well)!!  I can't believe how much I have missed my students!!!

Second, I wanted to say thank you.  Thank you to all my followers.  This is my first Thanksgiving as an official blogger and I am so thankful to have so many followers and friends.  I am truly thankful for the friendship I have found as a blogger.  And another thank you to all those wonderful people who leave comments when they stop by my blog.  I am still a newbie, so it's nice to hear that I do something that people actually like or can use.

And finally, as a thank you to all of you, I'm going to join TPT for this awesome sale. Everything in my store will be 20% off plus TPT's 8% off and that equals 28% off! Isn't that awesome! There are lots of bloggers putting their stores on sale these two days, so make sure you stop by to TPT to enjoy the savings!

Cyber Monday

Happy Thanksgiving-

Ouch

I'm sorry to say that I will be out of commission for a few days.  I had a little accident on Saturday.  I was walking out of a store Saturday, (after spending a few hours earlier with my son's Reconciliation ceremony and lunch - it was wonderful), and got hit with a SUV.  Yes, I said I was a pedestrian and got hit!  I am only 5'1" so why it had to be an SUV I don't know.

Had a fun ambulance ride to the ER...spent the rest of my Saturday there...Went to my doctor today.  I have knee, neck, and hip trauma (swelling, pain, etc) and a broken wrist.  The doctor wants me to take a week off of work (doesn't he understand us teachers?????).  I took today and tomorrow, but will have to see about the rest of the week.  I have parent/teacher conferences Monday and Tuesday next week that I need to prepare for, so we'll see!  I can't even drive...AHHHHHH!

Needless to say...I will be out of commission for a little bit.  But thank goodness...it could have been so much worse.  And thank God my 7 year old wasn't with me!

Here's a song we've been singing in my house instead of Grandma got run over by a reindeer we've got - "Mommy got runover by a Lexus, walking out of Hallmark Saturday..."

Turkey on Vacation

Turkey wants to go on vacation, just in time for Thanksgiving...  I made this fun writing pack to have some fun with my kiddos next week.  We will be off for one whole week during Thanksgiving for parent/teacher conferences and the holiday, so I thought this would be a lot of fun.  I just made it available on TPT for $1.00.  Let me know what you think!  :)

I'll put some pictures on here next week showing some of my kiddos great turkey adventures!

Clip Art and a Freebie

HELP!  I have a serious problem....I'm addicted to clip art!  I love it when I get an email from one of my favorite clip art designers saying they have new clip art.  It brings a smile to my face and a payment to my pay pal account.  Can you seriously have too much clip art?  Is there anyone out there that will admit to their clip art addiction???  Is there a support group out there yet???

I mean look how cute my new "I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie" and "How to Cook Thanksgiving"(that you can get from TPT) turned out...

And here are two freebies for you if you like.  The first one I made out of necessity.  We were doing our new Thanksgiving glyph today and my students had no idea what a wattle was.  So I made this to work on labeling.

And here is a cute sheet on Daily Language Practice where the students have to put the sentences in order.  I don't know about your kiddos, but my students can fix mistakes in a sentence but have no clue how to move words around to have it make sense.  Once again...worksheet out of necessity.

I hope you can use these freebies.  And please...can someone point me in the right direction to that clip art support group???   Happy "clip arting" everyone!  :)

Teachers Helping Teachers UPDATE

This is an updated post.  I just received an email from Laurah that she is asking us to add a button for those teachers affected.  Please click on the button below to link up.  There are so many bloggers out there linking up to help!

Laurah from ESOL Odyssey: Teachers Help Teachers has a great thing started to help out those teachers who were affected by the storm. As soon as I saw that, I had to link up! You can donate items from your TPT store to those teachers that need some help with supplies that were lost. Isn't that a wonderful thing???

Click on the picture to go to her blog to link up. It makes someone like me who lives in the Midwest feel like I can help a fellow teacher. Thanks Laurah for doing this---

Teachers Helping Teachers

So I'm sitting here thinking about all those people affected by Hurricane Sandy while I'm browsing some of my bloggy friend's past blog posts for the last couple of days (been so busy with Halloween and report cards - yes in the same week!!!!!) and I find something wonderful.
